About Us

WELCOME TO

ALTO I.S.D.

Dear Families,

We are excited to welcome your children back to school for what we hope will be a fun and positive school year. My focus for this year is to create a safe and secure learning environment where strong partnerships and respectful relationships can flourish.  It is only by working together that we can build the kind of momentum that will launch Alto ISD into a new era of possibilities for students, parents, and the entire Alto Community.

Our maintenance and technology departments have done outstanding work to prepare our schools for the first day of school. My sincerest thanks to those employees who are making our schools ready and welcoming for our students and staff.

During the summer we have continued to develop and enhance a variety of our District programs; the completion of numerous safety improvements to our building infrastructures, increasing extracurricular programs, and expanding curriculum.  Throughout the school year, we will be showcasing these great programs and highlighting the joy of teaching and learning.

Alto ISD is proud of our overall rating of an 89 last year from the Texas Education Agency.  It is a shining example of the hard work and dedication of our staff to your children. While we are proud of it, we are not satisfied. This year our theme is “Home of Champions!”  We strive daily to create students who are champions in all aspects of life.  We want the best for every student, every staff member, and the community we serve. These are the things that make us special. These are the things that make us AISD.

Another one of our goals this year is to ensure that every student attends school regularly.  Chronic absenteeism negatively impacts learning to such a degree that we recognize it as a top priority, second only to student safety.  Parents and families play a huge role in promoting student attendance; teachers, administrators, and counselors can offer student support and programs to improve attendance, but parent involvement makes all the difference in ensuring regular student attendance.  Everyone in our community can make a difference by helping students and families understand that going to school every day is critical to their academic achievement. Together, we can make school attendance a community priority so that all our students achieve success!

As we begin this new school year, I cannot adequately express how fortunate I feel to be part of such a wonderful school district and community.  It is an honor for me to serve the students, parents and the Alto community.  Go Jackets!
