Teacher with students in the classroom

About Us

WELCOME TO

ALTO I.S.D.

Welcome to 2021-2022! A new school year is a fresh start.  That takes on a new meaning for Alto ISD this year.  The district is still recovering from the 2019 tornadoes and stress of COVID, and a new beginning is eagerly anticipated by all.

I am so excited to be welcoming back students, seeing our football teams in get back into action, hearing the band practice, and watching the cheerleaders prepare to enliven the crowd. I would like to express my appreciation for the opportunity to continue to serve this community.  We are blessed to have a community that values learning and the role education plays in preparing all young people to be positive contributors to society.

Educating the youth of our community is truly a work of HEART!  Being a productive, positive member of society and a team is also truly a work of HEART! So for the 21-22 school year, we will focus on getting to the HEART of the matter.  The district theme for our upcoming year is “START WITH THE HEART!”

Our staff, administrative team, Board of Trustees, and District Improvement Committee would like to share some improvements that have been made at AISD:

  • Recognizing the social emotional needs of our students as they live through uncertain times in our world.
  •  Rebuilding AISD and Alto High School.
  • Constructing a new elementary gymnasium to support our youngest students.
  • Honoring our community’s history by naming the new elementary gym in remembrance of the alumni of Booker T. Washington School.
  • Supporting our teachers to academically prepare our students.
  • Continuing to communicate with Alto ISD stakeholders through social media presence and our District website.
  • Building strategic plans around College and Career readiness.
  • Partnering with local businesses and community members to support our schools.

One of my priorities in these first months of school is to be out on the campuses each week visiting classrooms, talking to students, and seeing their learning in action. It’s important to remember that we are working together to ensure our students are set up for success each step of the way. I look forward to working with you as we continue to rebuild AISD.  We will be better than ever before!
