SHAC

Alto Independent School District has established a School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) to advise the school board and assist the district in ensuring that local community values are reflected in the district’s health education plan. The advisory council advises and supports the school’s efforts to assess their needs and to design programs to help children develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to become healthy, productive citizens. This council may include parents, students, teachers, school administrators, voluntary organizations, health professionals, and other concerned citizens. The council meets three times each year.
