Here’s this week’s AMS Weekly Schedule from Mr. Childs! Stay up to date on all that’s happening at Alto Middle School this week. 💛🖤

🧟♀️ Zombie Survival in RLA! 🧠✏️
It was no ordinary day in Mrs. Parker’s RLA class! Students walked in to find a skeleton waiting for them—and a warning that zombies were nearby! 🧟♂️
Each student received a color-coded card that determined their base, role, resources, and special advantages or disadvantage. After teaming up, groups created survival maps complete with legends and detailed written plans for how to outlast the zombie invasion.
The fun activity had a serious purpose: students demonstrated their understanding of sentence fluency by crafting clear, varied sentences in their survival plans. Great work, Mrs. Parker’s class—way to make learning come alive! 💀📚

Red Ribbon Week is Almost Here!
Red Ribbon Week began in 1985 in honor of DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, whose dedication to fighting drug trafficking inspired a nationwide movement. The red ribbon became a symbol of living drug-free and making safe, healthy choices.
We’re excited to celebrate with a dress-up week to show our commitment—check out the themes below! ❤️💪

Last week, Mr. Conley made several “good news” calls! He got to share with the families of Te’Asia, Marlee, and Alice how their students have been showing hard work and respect. Way to go, Jackets!

We are thrilled to share that our high school and middle school TAME (AllPath) students had an incredible day at the Region 7 Kickoff in Kilgore! 🎉 They showcased their creativity by designing 3D prototypes aimed at expanding affordable internet access in remote areas. 🌍💡
Our students demonstrated hard work and respect while competing against other East Texas schools. We are proud to announce that the Jaycee C. group came out on top, winning 1st place, and two groups, Daxton M. and Avery S., earned Judges' Choice awards! 🏆👏

Mr. Conley was excited to wrap up the week with Jacket Bucks drawings! Congratulations to Lariat and Messiah, who each won tickets to tomorrow’s football game!

Mrs. Low’s Career Exploration students have been busy researching their future career paths! Each student created a poster and presented to the class, giving everyone the chance to learn about a variety of exciting career options for the future. Great job exploring what’s ahead, Yellowjackets!

From Coach Grigsby: Junior High football at Tenaha tomorrow will be 7th grade only in a scrimmage format. The scrimmage will begin at 5:00. 🏈

Congrats to the most recent “Gold Standard” students at AMS, Kevin and Matthew! 💛🐝
Matthew comes to school with a great attitude and is ready to learn. His teacher is very proud of his effort and enthusiasm.
Kevin was chosen for helping keep the school clean and organized, often picking up after his classmates without being asked. His initiative and pride in his school set a great example for others to follow.
