Fourth grade had a special guest to celebrate National Native American Heritage Month! Jennifer Carter, mother of Lillith M., gave a presentation about the Cherokee tribe, brought authentic artifacts, and taught students to sing a Cherokee greeting song. The timing was perfect as our students are currently learning about the tribes of Texas!

🎉 It’s time to celebrate the Alto Elementary Students of the Week! These students have gone above and beyond in showing hard work and respect. We are so proud of their dedication and the example they set for their classmates. Keep up the amazing work!
This week, we are also honoring our AES Staff Member of the Week, Mrs. Mabry! She does a fantastic job teaching 3rd grade math and has high expectations for all her students, encouraging them to reach their full potential. Her dedication, creativity, and patience make learning both challenging and fun, helping every child succeed.

Our Pre-K students had a wonderful time at Region 7’s EcoLand today! 🌿 EcoLand is a hands-on learning adventure designed especially for early learners, where kids explore nature, community, and everyday life through fun, interactive stations!

🌦️ Thank you to Mr. Brad Hlozek, Chief Meteorologist at KTRE, for visiting our fourth graders and sharing great information about weather! Students gained more in-depth knowledge about weather and even got to see a real weather balloon. Experiences with community partners like Mr. Hlozek enrich the curriculum here at Alto ISD and make learning come alive! 💛🖤

This morning, Alto ISD came together for a heartfelt Veterans Day program filled with inspiring speeches, beautiful songs, and deep gratitude for those who have served our country. Thank you to all who helped make this special day of honor and remembrance possible — and most of all, thank you to our heroes.

📢 Parents! Red Ribbon Week isn’t just about dressing up and theme days, it’s a chance for you to talk to your kids about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Believe it or not, YOU have a significant influence in your children’s decision to use alcohol and other drugs. It may not seem like it, but students DO listen 👂 when their parents talk about underage drinking and substance use.
The Drug-Free Council program is funded by a grant from TxDOT to reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes in Texas. #TalkTheyHearYou

Red Ribbon Week is Almost Here!
Red Ribbon Week began in 1985 in honor of DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, whose dedication to fighting drug trafficking inspired a nationwide movement. The red ribbon became a symbol of living drug-free and making safe, healthy choices.
We’re excited to celebrate with a dress-up week to show our commitment—check out the themes below! ❤️💪
