Alto ISD Pre-K Round-Up for the 2026-2027 school year will be conducted in two phases:

⏰ 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
📍 Alto Elementary Office

Registration packets must be completed in person, and all required documents should be turned in at that time.

Required Documents:
✔ Proof of residence (utility bill in parent/guardian’s name)
✔ Official birth certificate
✔ Child’s Social Security card
✔ Parent ID and Social Security card
✔ Current immunization record
✔ Guardianship papers (if applicable)

Eligibility Requirement:
Children must be 4 years old on or before September 1 to enroll.

This morning, Alto High School’s Drug Free Council recently traveled to KSWP Radio to record public service announcements encouraging our community to stay drug free. Students shared important messages focused on mental health awareness, prom and graduation safety, and making positive choices as summer approaches. We are proud of these students for using their voices to promote healthy decisions and support a safe community!

FFA and 4-H members from Alto will be showcasing their hard work and talents — exhibiting everything from baked goods and photography to livestock and ag mechanics projects!

Come out and support our students as they demonstrate months of dedication, responsibility, and skill. The show runs March 23–28, with events happening throughout the week and the livestock sale on Saturday. Let’s show up and support our Alto exhibitors!

March is National Athletic Training Month, and we are proud to celebrate Jacolby Whitaker, MS, ATC, LAT, CES, SMTC — Alto ISD’s Athletic Trainer! 🩺🏈 National Athletic Training Month shines a spotlight on the vital role athletic trainers play in keeping students healthy, safe, and ready to compete through injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation. Coach Whit goes above and beyond every day, serving triple duty as our Athletic Trainer, Health Science teacher, and Coach. He is a tremendous role model for our students and cares for each yellowjacket athlete with professionalism and compassion. Thank you, Coach Whit, for the countless ways you support and serve Alto ISD!

Mean Sting- Thank you for another AMAZING week at Alto ISD!!☝️ I would like to share a few highlights of "Hard Work and Respect" from this week with you: 1. Alto Middle Boys 7th AND 8th grade Track both win the Yellowjacket Relays!!🏆 2. Alto Girls Varsity Track Champions at Yellowjacket Relays, and Varsity Boys with a 3rd place finish!!🏅🏃 3. Enrollment stays consistent at 517 students. Attendance with 6th grade over 98% ☑️ 4. Alto Softball with a dominating victories against Neches and Centerville!!🥎 5. Alto Baseball with a decisive 18-5 victory versus Mount Enterprise!!⚾️ 6. Great week of academics at Alto Middle School with students giving excellent effort and encouragement during reading and math Gold Standard Test #3!! 📚 7. Several of our Alto ISD students showed heifers and rabbits and the Houston Livestock Show, and they represented all of us with their many hours of hard work and preparation 💪 8. This afternoon, we celebrated a special part of Yellowjacket history! 🏃‍♂️💛

This year marks 40 years since Alto’s 1986 State Championship and 30 years since the historic 1996 State Championships, when both the boys and girls teams brought home state titles. We were honored to welcome special guests representing all seven Alto state championship track teams:
🏆 Boys State Champions — 1986, 1996, 2004, 2014
🏆 Girls State Champions — 1996, 2003, 2005

These outstanding athletes laid the foundation for the proud tradition of the Alto ISD track program. Their dedication, hard work, and championship spirit continue to inspire today’s Yellowjackets!

🥎 Lil’ Lady Jacket Softball Camp 🥎

Calling all future Lady Jackets! Girls in Kindergarten–5th grade are invited to join us for a fun evening of softball at the Alto Softball Field. Campers will get to practice with the high school Lady Jacket players!

Participants will also be recognized before the Lady Jackets’ home game on Tuesday, March 31 at 5:00 PM.

Camp is FREE! Optional camp T-shirt available for $20. Campers who purchase a shirt should wear it to the game on March 31.

Alto ISD was well represented at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo this year! 🤠🐂

Lariat D. showed her heifer in the International Brahman Show and placed 3rd out of a huge class of 50 heifers — an outstanding accomplishment!

Angelina L., Makenzie S., Makenzie L. (9th place), Macee L. (15th place), and Alice M. (7th place) also represented Alto well in the Junior Beefmaster Show.

Showing livestock takes dedication, responsibility, early mornings, and late nights, and we are proud of the hard work these students put into raising and exhibiting their animalsl. Great job, Jackets! 💛🖤

Due to rain and a shortage of officials, the Lady Jacket softball game on Friday has been moved to ALTO at 1:00 PM.

Alto hosted a successful junior high track meet on Monday! 🏃‍♂️💛 Our 7th and 8th grade boys are the 2026 Yellowjacket Relays Champions — congratulations, Jackets!

Come out tomorrow and support our athletes at the high school meet!

We also congratulate Ms. Gonzalez on being named Staff Member of the Week! Ms. Gonzalez works closely with students through RTI, helping them grow and achieve their goals each day with a sweet, patient approach that makes a positive difference at AES!
