🌟 Shout out to Ms. Mac! After the storm in March ruined several “old school” projectors, insurance came through with new touch screens for some of our teachers. Mrs. Mac gave up her day off to help Mrs. Grimes get them set up, and she’s even been training other teachers on how to use them. Thank you for going above and beyond! 👏

On June 20, 2025, the Governor of Texas signed Senate Bill 12 (SB 12) into law. Beginning September 1, 2025, all Texas public school districts must have parental consent on file before providing students with any routine physical or health services.
This means that before school staff such as nurses or counselors can provide even simple care—like placing a bandage on a scrape, giving an over-the-counter medication, or assisting a student who is upset—we must have a signed consent form from a parent or guardian.
Consent forms will be sent home with students tomorrow. If the form is not completed and returned by September 1, 2025, school staff will not be able to provide your child with routine physical or mental health services. The only exception is in the event of an emergency requiring life-saving care.

It’s a great day at AHS! 💛 Today’s love language is all about giving and receiving gifts, and our students and staff are having fun joining in. We had a special surprise—one of our former Jackets, now proudly serving in the military, dropped by to see Mrs. Dorsey! And of course, learning is happening all over campus. 🐝📚
We’re excited to share this year’s first Students of the Week at Alto Elementary! Each week, we’ll recognize students who go above and beyond, showing hard work, respect, and a positive attitude.

This week, we’re also excited to recognize Ms. Jackson as our AES Staff Member of the Week! Mrs. Jackson may be new to our district, but she jumped right in, ready to make a difference for our students. We’re so glad she’s part of the Jacket family!

Members of Alto FFA recently trained our fourth graders on how to properly raise and lower the flags at Alto Elementary. We’re proud of these students for learning this important responsibility and grateful to our FFA members for taking the time to teach them!

The Texas Legislature recently completed the 89th Regular Session, which included several updates to Texas education laws. One of the most significant changes involves student discipline under House Bill 6 (HB 6).
To help families understand these changes, the state has created a graphic highlighting the key updates, which we’ve included below. Paper copies will be sent home with progress reports. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s campus administration.
