Mrs. Low’s Career Exploration students have been busy researching their future career paths! Each student created a poster and presented to the class, giving everyone the chance to learn about a variety of exciting career options for the future. Great job exploring what’s ahead, Yellowjackets!

This afternoon, AHS students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with delicious food, lively music, and rich culture! Thanks to Coach Soto and his students, along with our amazing cafeteria ladies for making this event a success!

From Coach Grigsby: Junior High football at Tenaha tomorrow will be 7th grade only in a scrimmage format. The scrimmage will begin at 5:00. 🏈

Ms. Kelley's A/V Production students decided Alto High School needed its own digital school newspaper—and they’re making it happen! 📰 Each student has taken ownership of a section and works hard to create quality content while collaborating and sharing ideas. Ms. Kelley says this group is always eager to learn, follows directions, and has a lot of fun!💛🖤

Our first Gold Standard testing day was a success! We saw hard work, focus, and respect all around—great job, Jackets!

Our AHS Students of the Month for September exemplify the BEAST mode theme of AHS—Believe, Encourage, Achieve, Serve, Trust. Congratulations to Jarmarkez, Camdyn, Brylee, and Kevin! Each of these students has shown dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude in and out of the classroom.

We are also proud to recognize Mrs. Gound as AHS Teacher of the Month! Mrs. Gound was selected by her peers for her dedication to her students and her commitment to keeping them engaged in learning. 💛🐝

Matthew comes to school with a great attitude and is ready to learn. His teacher is very proud of his effort and enthusiasm.

Kevin was chosen for helping keep the school clean and organized, often picking up after his classmates without being asked. His initiative and pride in his school set a great example for others to follow.

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 through October 15, and yesterday our first graders joined in the celebration! They enjoyed delicious food and a special presentation by Mrs. Eva Gonzalez Rios, who shared about Hispanic culture and traditions.

Thank you, Mrs. Gonzalez Rios, for helping our students learn and celebrate the rich heritage that makes our community so special!

Celebrated every year on October 6th, this day honors the incredible impact of coaches who serve as teachers, mentors, and role models—helping athletes grow in skill, character, and confidence. Established by President Richard Nixon in 1972, National Coaches Day recognizes the dedication and heart coaches put into guiding, motivating, and building teamwork and discipline in their players.

💛🖤 Mini Cheer Camp was a huge success! 🐝✨
Our varsity cheerleaders had a blast teaching PK–6th grade Yellowjackets fun cheers and chants. The campers showed off what they learned in a special performance for their parents, and they’ll take the field again to perform before the Tenaha game this Friday night!

Last Thursday was School Custodian Appreciation Day, and we want to give a huge thank you to our Alto ISD custodians—Rodolfo, Francisco C., Francisco O., and Joel! These hardworking, dependable, and trustworthy men keep our schools running smoothly each and every day, and we couldn’t do it without them.

AHS even caught a special moment celebrating Rodolfo—thank you all for everything you do for our students and staff! 💛🐝

Mean Sting- Thank you for a great week at Alto ISD!!🏆 I would like to share a few highlights of "Hard Work and Respect" from this week with you: 1. Thanks to our Board of Trustees for ensuring the best transportation for our students in purchasing and receiving a brand-new air-conditioned school bus this week. 🚌 2. Strong attendance in the Cherokee County Challenge at 95.59%. Enrollment stays up at 521 students. ⬆️ 3. Alto Volleyball competed well versus Carlisle in our second district game. 🏐 4. Jacket Football beat Cushing 29-20 for a big district win to go 1-0. 8th grade and JV with big wins on Thursday night versus Grapeland. 🏈 5. She is patient, caring, and runs a tight ship in Pre-K, setting the foundation for our youngest learners to thrive.

October is Principal Appreciation Month, and Alto ISD is blessed with three outstanding principals! Being a campus principal is a tough job—filled with long hours, hard decisions, and the responsibility of leading an entire school family.
