Our fourth graders had a great time learning all about agriculture at Ag Day yesterday! 🌾🐝

They visited with farmers and ranchers, beekeepers, dairymen, Forest Service firefighters, and many others who shared their knowledge and experiences. Our students especially enjoyed the hands-on activities and getting to learn more about the many ways agriculture impacts our community.

Our first graders celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a fun and educational fiesta! Mrs. Eva Gonzalez and Mrs. Cabriales shared all about Mexican culture and traditions, including traditional clothing and food.

The celebration included delicious tamales, burritos, rice, and guacamole, along with music that brought the fiesta to life! 💃🎶

The Alto Yellowjackets will take on the Grapeland Sandies this Friday night in Grapeland! Due to the weather forecast, kickoff has been moved up to 6:00 PM instead of 7:00 PM.

Sarah and Mr. Reitan represented Alto FFA at Cherokee County’s annual Ag Day, bringing their goats to help fourth-grade students learn about dairy and meat goat production. The two-day event, hosted by Texas A&M Agrilife and Cherokee County Farm Bureau, gives fourth graders from across Cherokee County the opportunity to explore 10 hands-on stations highlighting the many facets of agriculture. Tomorrow, our Alto 4th graders get to attend! 🐐🌱

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that brings neighbors and law enforcement together to build stronger, safer, and more caring communities. The Alto Police Department will host their second annual National Night Out in the AHS parking lot one week from today! 🚓💙

More than a custodian! 💛🖤

Mr. Francisco thought the benches at Alto Elementary School would be even nicer with cushions—so he made them himself! These custom cushions feature piping and yellowjacket accents, and they turned out great. We had no idea we had such a talented craftsman at AES! 🐝

What a special start to the day! More than 200 people gathered around the flagpole at Cam'ron Matthews Field this morning for See You at the Pole, an annual global day of student-led prayer. 🙏We are so proud of these students for their leadership and willingness to come together around something that is important to them.
