As we kick off another great season of Yellowjacket athletics, we want to share a quick reminder about Senate Bill 2929, the “Safe Stands Act.”

Under this law, game officials at school athletic events may remove spectators immediately for inappropriate behavior—without a warning. This law is about keeping athletic events safe, positive, and focused on what matters most—our students.

We know how much our community loves our Jackets, and we love seeing our stands packed with energy and support! Thank you to our parents, families, and fans for showing great sportsmanship, supporting our athletes, and setting the example we want our students to follow.

Our fourth graders are carrying on a great Alto Elementary tradition! 🇺🇸 On Friday, they learned the proper flag protocol from Mr. Reitan and Alto FFA members, and beginning tomorrow, they’ll take on the responsibility of raising and lowering the flags each day. We’re proud to see our oldest AES students stepping up to serve their school and honor our flag! 💛🖤

Your teen may think, “Everyone is doing it.” The truth? Most teens are not.

4TheA: Dr. Z's message after a awesome first week!

The 2026 TEA Accountability Ratings have been released. While we are encouraged by growth in some areas, our overall rating makes it clear that there is important work ahead. We are already taking steps to address these areas and move Alto ISD forward.

We are committed to being transparent about where we are, focused on where we need to go, and intentional about the work it will take to get there. We invite our community to review the full details of the 2026 ratings at TXschools.gov.

M&M Photography will be back on campus Monday, September 1, to capture those sweet back-to-school memories! Photos will be emailed directly to families, and a portion of every purchase will benefit the Alto Elementary PTO.

From a Pre-K student learning the routines of lunch in the cafeteria, to middle school students learning to use scientific calculators, to high school students getting hands-on experience working on a car starter, learning looks a little different at every age—and we love seeing it happen all across Alto ISD! 💛🖤

Alto ISD will continue to operate the Community Eligibility Provision Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program for the 2026-2027 school year. This means that all Alto ISD students are offered breakfast and lunch at no charge.

In order to ensure that we can continue qualifying for this opportunity, we need all socioeconomic forms completed and returned as soon as possible. Thanks for your help with this!

Alto High School CTE students enrolled in Mr. Reitan’s Vet Med course are kicking off the school year with some hands-on experience caring for a six-day-old bottle calf! This real-world situation provides the perfect laboratory for mastering the basics of livestock care.

Students are learning the importance of nutrition and daily husbandry during this critical stage, including:

• Milk replacer
• Proper temperature
• Feeding volume
• Rumen development

🌡️ Daily Husbandry & Health
• Monitoring vitals
• Scour prevention
• Proper sanitization
• Clean, comfortable bedding

From the classroom to the barn, our students are gaining skills they can put to work in the real world! 🐝💛🖤
